Let’s buy up all the items on these abortion providers’ wishlists

This list is being continuously updated. If you would like this list to include your resource, please contact us. Additionally, if you are a reproductive rights-focused organization and would like assistance divesting from Amazon, please get in touch.

We’re living in post-Roe America, which means that abortion funds are quite literally a lifeline to ensuring access to safe and legal abortions for those who need them. These organizations often rely on community support to provide essential services like health care, transportation, childcare, and lodging for individuals seeking abortions, gender-affirming care, and often other basic health care.

Wait, why are we using Amazon?

Amazon is problematic. Jeff Bezos is problematic. We’re on the same page and the same team.

I divested from Amazon years ago but I decided to put this list together after the 2024 Presidential Election because I wanted to send physical items that the organizations have specifically requested. I wanted to actively be a part of where my dollars would go and what they would do. I liked knowing that the umbrellas I purchased would help clinic escorts in rain, snow, and heat, for example. I also had some Amazon gift cards that I used up.

Of course, donating money directly is always the best way to impact an organization. I wish that abortion clinics had donation lists directly on their website, but that's not widely practiced. Unfortunately, this is the system we have right now and that many funds have opted into. I hope that changes soon. It would be awesome if there was an alternative to Amazon wishlists that nonprofits were using.

Everyone should support in whatever way they feel comfortable -- the most important thing is that we are supporting people who make reproductive health care possible.

Use your old Amazon gift cards, then GTFO

If you decide to purchase items on these Amazon wishlists, here’s how you can make a purchase and then GTFO the site.

  1. Max out any old Amazon gift cards you have.

  3. Email the organization that you’re donating to. Tell them that you would like to contribute physical items but do not want to use Amazon anymore.

  4. If they don’t have an alternative wishlist, ask them for the best way to support their work.

One simple, fast, and easy way to make a real, tangible impact is purchasing items from abortion clinics’ Amazon wishlists. These lists typically include necessities like toiletries, snacks, and other supplies needed to support individuals during their journey to access reproductive healthcare. There are some fun items too, like advocacy stickers and Bluetooth speakers. I feel must useful buying rainbow umbrellas to escort patients to and from their rides and Hothands to keep them warm.

By providing access to abortion care, you're empowering people to make their own choices about their bodies and their futures.

  1. Help People Needing Abortion Care: Many of the wishlists below contain items like pads, underwear, medicine, and snacks, which are vital to post-procedure care. Some include umbrellas and other items that will aid clinic volunteers in protecting and helping patients even get to the front doors of the clinic. You’re providing items that will directly help someone, and that feels really good. Being helpful is one of the best ways to offset hopelessness.
